Murphysboro Apple Festival 2007
Our prize-winning float
"Spirit in even the tiniest of hearts"
We represented the Apple Festival theme "Spririt of America" by dressing the babies up as
"Miniature Representations of this Great Nation" (somehow I did not get a picture of that quote on the float)
Max played the miniature Cowboy. We had a Cowgirl, Statue of Liberty, Indians, baseball player, firefighter, Olympic swimmer, Miss America, Air Force Captains, Uncle Sam, and Abe Lincoln. Max had a great time riding in the parades and didn't figure out he could pull the tissue paper out of the float until the very end of the second parade. :) Our cowboy hat only went overboard once.

Training for soccer stardom
Max has now decided that we must take our own soccer ball to all games.
He can't stand to watch the big boys play and not get to kick the ball around too.
"Look, Dad...perfect over-the-head throw in form"
Max gets his turn on the big boy field after the game.

Got to replenish the fluids after a long time of soccer watching....

Valerie and Mike get married
Valerie and Mike officially became Mr. and Mrs. Pifer on August 18th, 2007. We enjoyed their beautiful ceremony and reception at a winery in Southern Illinois. We all had a greattime and were so glad to be able to share in this wonderful couple's special day. Max especially enjoyed the dance floor.

Moving Day
WHAT'S A GUY SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN HE OPENS HIS TOY BOX ON MOVING DAY AND FINDS IT EMPTY??? NATURALLY, YOU CRY FOR A MINUTE, THEN CLIMB IN WITH YOU LUVVY FROG AND MICKEY MOUSE CELL PHONE AND MAKE A CALL TO SEE JUST WHERE THOSE TOYS ARE.

Update:....Mr. Max's toys are now safely back in his toy box. Although....last night we opened it to show him that his toys were there just where they should be. But, what does our Buddy grab off the table to play with instead?....a cell phone battery. He carried it around and giggled for 30 minutes before deciding he might explore his actual toys again.
