Two weeks ago, Max woke up unable to put any weight on his right leg. He collapsed down in tears a couple of times but quickly learned how to maneuver to get where he wanted to go. Of course his parents were very worried about his sudden limping. We spent most of the day at the hospital getting x-rays, blood work, antibiotic shots and strep cultures. The Doctor finally decided he had something called transient synovitis. Basically, some infection (from a cold two weeks prior) had lingered and settled in his hip joint causing inflammation and pain. After a big antibiotic shot (see left thigh), some motrin and lots of parental worrying, our little Buddy woke up the next morning hopping, jumping and running as though nothing had ever been wrong. These babies bounce back so quickly. Max was so excited to be walking again (after a whole day of taking it slow) that he felt he needed to sport his very snazzy snow boots that light up when you walk. Sadly, in KY, we have been the recipients of lots of nasty winter weather but no pretty snow....only yucky ice and sleet which is not fun for toddler playing. This may be the only action his snazzy snow boots see this year. :)
"When will we get some good-playin snow?"

How cute, and glad to hear it wasn't anything serious and he is back to feeling good, I know we are ready for all this cold/flu season to be over at our house also! Miss you guys! love- Melinda
We would offer for you to come stay with us & play in the many inches of snow that we've had this year so far..... But we all know why that can't happen, but maybe next year? :-) Adyson would like to tell Max he's not missing much anyway, the boots are probably more fun and will get MUCH better use in the house anyway! Glad to hear little buddy is back and running again already, that is scary stuff! Hope to see you all soon.
Love,
